One thing that I hear constantly from potential clients or even existing clients is that there are no funds to help cover the costs associated with necessary insurance coverage. Whether it is car, home, life, business or other such a policy these individuals are making the decision to skimp on coverage. The trouble comes in however when something happens. Whether their house or auto suffers uncovered damage or they face a health scare that may not be covered, it will quickly become apparent that a quality insurance policy is well worth the costs associated with it.

Rather than cutting corners on your insurance policies, take some of these money saving tips and help save by cutting out unnecessary expenditures.

Ditch the Health Club or Gym

While it may seem like a great thing, a health club membership can and does eat up a great deal of your financial resources. Why not check out your local library and see if they carry workout DVDs? If not, then invest in a high quality set that you can own rather than having to pay a recurring fee to a gym. There are also many free classes and workout options available in most communities now as well.

BYOB Water – Bring Your Own Bottled Water

Why should you be paying $1 or more a day for a resource that you can get right at home? You already likely pay for water in your home. Simply purchase yourself a reusable water bottle and then fill it throughout the day. Don’t like the taste of your tap water? Add an affordable filter option, and you will be good to go. It might – or might not – surprise you to know that many companies that tout their water as being sourced from pure underground springs actually get the wet stuff right out of the tap just the same as your or I. They simply process it a bit, maybe add in some minerals, mark it up and ship it out to consumers.

Cut the TV Cords

Do you subscribe to cable or satellite? Odds are you are overpaying. Many shows today are available through streaming options such as Hulu Plus, Amazon Prime, or Netflix. Televisions shows that are on the air will typically be released to a service the day after it airs on its parent channel such as CBS, NBC, etc. When you begin comparing Netflix’s $8 a month streaming vs the $100+ that cable tends to charge you will see very quickly how much money you stand to save.

Watch Your Thermostat

Sure, fall is coming on and temperatures will be falling. One thing you don’t want to do however is to crank the heat way up and get smacked with a killer electric or gas bill. By simply setting your thermostat a couple degrees lower than normal you would be amazed at how much a difference it can make on your utility bill. And you don’t have to freeze either. For most of us a two to four degree difference is typically not even noticed.

Rather than trying to scrape by on the bare bones of insurance coverage make sure that you are well protected. Instead, try some of these money saving tips and watch. You will find that there are plenty of funds available for making those insurance payments after all!
